Minister of Information and National Orientation, **Mohammed Idris**, announced the initiative in Abuja, saying Nigeria’s large youthful population, growing pool of skilled workers and expanding digital economy have positioned the country to compete more effectively in the global labour market.

According to the minister, the initiative is designed to enable Nigerians to work for foreign companies without leaving the country, provided they have the required skills, digital tools and access to international markets.
The government said the initiative brings together the Ministries of Industry, Trade and Investment and Education, alongside programmes including **NATEP and iDICE**, as well as private-sector partners, to create a platform connecting Nigerian professionals with employers around the world.

Minister of Education, **Maruf Tunji Alausa**, said the government was strengthening vocational training and digital skills development to ensure Nigerians acquire the competencies required by the changing global labour market.
Meanwhile, Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, **Jumoke Oduwole**, described “Hire from Nigeria” as more than an awareness campaign, saying it is a national economic initiative designed to promote growth, create employment opportunities and expand Nigeria’s participation in the global services market.
The Federal Government said the initiative is expected to help facilitate **up to one million jobs** by connecting Nigerian talent with international employers, allowing young Nigerians to earn income from global markets while working remotely from within the country.
