The vessels recorded on Wednesday included two large liquefied natural gas carriers, two long-range oil tankers, one Supramax vessel and one Panamax vessel.
The latest figure is also well below the 10-day average of around 13 vessels per day, highlighting a sharp reduction in maritime traffic through the strait.
The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world’s most important routes for the transportation of oil and natural gas. Any escalation of tensions in the region could further disrupt shipping activity and affect global energy markets.
