The appointment followed the approval of members and representatives of various media organisations covering the Emir’s Palace. They cited Khalil’s commitment, experience, professionalism and ability to effectively coordinate media-related activities.
The Head of Staff of the Kano Emirate Palace, Galadiman Kano Alhaji Munir Sanusi, formally confirmed the appointment and signed the relevant documents after they were presented to him. This officially recognised Khalil Ibrahim Yaro as the new Secretary of Palace Journalists.

The development also followed the confirmation of Jamilu Sani Darma from Acting Chairman to substantive Chairman of Palace Journalists, as part of a new leadership structure aimed at strengthening unity, coordination and the effective performance of journalists covering the Kano Emirate.
As Secretary, Khalil Ibrahim Yaro is expected to play an important role in coordinating communication activities, promoting unity among palace journalists and strengthening professional relations between media organisations and the Kano Emirate.
