According to a statement issued by the Task Force on Monday, a separate complaint was made on behalf of a 63-year-old woman, who allegedly received Pentazocine injections from Musa without her knowledge or informed consent and later became addicted to the drug. The Task Force said Musa has been arrested and arraigned, while the case is now before a competent court.
The Task Force said its earlier investigation began after a 25-year-old man reported that he had developed severe damage to his hands following prolonged use of Pentazocine. It alleged that the man obtained the drug from an unregistered clinic operated by Musa, whose licence had reportedly been revoked, and that an undercover operation later led to Musa’s arrest. The Task Force Chairman, Muhuyi Magaji, said the agency would continue to investigate and prosecute anyone involved in the illegal distribution of controlled substances, regardless of their political or social status.
