The Emir made the statement during a dialogue session organised by the association in Kano, attended by representatives from 26 countries.
He said that, in view of the legal matter before the court, the association had suspended its planned leadership election until the court grants permission for the process to continue.

The development followed a visit by Tabital Pulaagu leaders from different countries to the Emir at the Kano Palace, where they expressed their support for his leadership.
During the visit, the delegation said it expected the Emir to provide fair leadership and promote unity among Fulani communities around the world.
Speaking on behalf of the Ghana chapter of the association, its leader said the delegation had pledged allegiance to the Emir and expressed confidence in his leadership.
He said they hoped the Emir would use his position to promote unity among Fulani communities and advance their interests through lawful means.
Responding in Fulfulde, Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II thanked the representatives for travelling to Kano and for the confidence they had expressed in his leadership.
He stressed the importance of respecting the rule of law and court decisions in resolving disputes within the organisation.

The Emir reiterated that the association's leadership election would not proceed until the necessary authorisation was obtained from the court.
The decision means the planned electoral congress in Kano has been suspended pending further developments in the court proceedings.
